CoughBULLSHITCough

Just FYI...I took this picture about a half hour ago. This is what I call Rifriggindiculous.
While I'd love to believe that we're really this far in the hole when it comes to our fossil fuels, I'm having a hard time understanding how our government expects us to live like this on our current salaries. Just my gripe for the day. BTW...this is the gas station that is within walking distance from my home.

Wow. I bought gas yesterday at 2.89, but I bet if I look today it'll be more in this range. SO CAL is usually about the most expensive in the US, from what I understand. I think I'll be walking Sweetie Pie to school and pulling my bicycle out of the garage. Sheesh! I SO regret trading my Honda in for an SUV.

Glad you're feeling better. Are you still waiting to be deployed, or not going?

Still waiting. I talked to our FEMA commander this morning. It could be up to two weeks before we can even get in there. Right now they're using the closest resources being that those people (and pooches) can come in and at least have a prayer of getting back home. It's a very dangerous situation down there. I am assuming that we'll be called in sooner than 2 weeks...but it's very unorganized at this point. No one quite knows where to start. I can't say that I've got any better outlook on it. I wouldn't know where to start either. I'm looking forward to the accurate estimates. We don't even have the beginnings of estimates yet...(contrary to what the "talking heads" would have us believe).

Anywho...lets just all keep praying and hoping for it to be not as bad as we all think it is.

I won't agree to send my teams until FEMA can at least assure us that their basic needs can be met. If I allow my teams to be put in danger, then we're part of the problem, and I'd never willingly become part of the problem.

Market economies suck in times of national need. We need compassionate resource sharing, not price spikes as people profit from limited supply!

Thank you for being ready and able to go help: Godspeed! Do you have a camera phone? Will you be able to mobile blog?
